Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan is not merely an electoral party. It is a religious, ideological, and reformist movement whose struggle extends far beyond elections. Since its founding in 1941 , it has remained committed to a single mission: to build individual and collective life upon the guidance of Allah, the Qur’an, and the Sunnah. Electoral politics is only one part of this wider journey.
Over the decades, Jamaat-e-Islami has remained steadfast in its purpose. It has not turned into a factional bloc, a personality cult, or a dynastic platform. It has sought to remain disciplined, principled, and free from corruption. It has endured imprisonment, repression, bans, and hostility, yet has continued to move forward with patience, consistency, and faith. This is not merely a political caravan. It is a mission shaped by conviction, sacrifice, and purpose.
The Foundational Creed
Tawhid and the Sovereignty of Allah
The foundation of Jamaat-e-Islami is the declaration of faith: There is no deity except Allah, and Muhammad ﷺ is the Messenger of Allah. This is not a ceremonial statement. It is the basis of our worldview.
The Oneness of Allah means that He alone is the Creator, Sustainer, Owner, and Sovereign of the universe. It also means that true authority in human life belongs only to Him. No individual, institution, ideology, or power has the right to override Divine guidance. For us, faith is not confined to private worship. It shapes public life, moral conduct, justice, law, and governance.
From this creed follows a clear conviction: human life cannot be divided into sacred and secular spheres. All of life lies under the dominion of Allah, and all spheres of life must reflect moral responsibility and accountability before Him.
Our Ultimate Objective
Iqamat-e-Deen, the Establishment of the Divine Way of Life
Jamaat-e-Islami came into existence for the purpose of fulfilling the human duty of serving Allah in all dimensions of life. Our central objective is Iqamat-e-Deen , the practical establishment of the religion of truth in individual, social, political, and collective life.
This objective is clearly stated in the party’s constitution. In essence, it means that our struggle is directed toward the establishment of a system in which the sovereignty of Allah is recognised, His guidance is upheld, and life is organised in accordance with His commands. For us, this means a just and ethical order, not a narrow slogan. It means a society where governance, economics, justice, education, and public morality all reflect the higher purpose of human existence.
Jamaat-e-Islami does not view religion as a matter limited to rituals or personal piety. Religion, in our understanding, is a complete and living framework for human life. Its aim is to secure the pleasure of Allah in this world and success in the Hereafter.
Our Message Is for All Humanity
Islam Is a Universal Trust
We do not regard Islam as the private property of any ethnic, regional, or social group. It is a blessing from Allah for all humanity. Our call is therefore universal. We invite all people to the truth, justice, and dignity that Islam offers.
At the same time, we recognise that Muslims carry a special responsibility. They are the bearers of the message and the living example through which the world judges Islam.
Therefore, we are concerned not only with preaching ideals, but with building a model of personal integrity and collective excellence. The message of Islam becomes most effective when those who claim to follow it demonstrate honesty, discipline, service, and moral strength.
Our Methodology
Guidance Above Personal Opinion
Jamaat-e-Islami follows a clear and balanced methodology in understanding Islam. For us, Islam means full obedience to Allah and complete submission to the Shariah brought by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. No person has the right to accept only what he likes from the Shariah and reject what he dislikes.
Our sources of guidance are the Qur’an and the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . We do not shape Divine guidance to suit our theories. Rather, we shape our understanding, our thinking, and our policies in the light of Divine guidance.
At the same time, Jamaat-e-Islami does not believe in rigid imitation that leaves no room for thoughtful renewal. Nor do we believe in reckless reinterpretation that dismisses the entire scholarly legacy of the Ummah and tries to rebuild everything from zero. Our approach values scholarship, continuity, reasoning, and responsible ijtihad. We believe that intellectual growth must remain rooted in revelation and guided by the sound tradition of the scholars.
We also respect legitimate differences in Islamic jurisprudence. Differences of opinion are part of the scholarly life of the Ummah. What we reject is division without principle, blind partisanship, and intellectual confusion. We invite all people to read our literature, examine our arguments, and judge our approach by its civility, coherence, and sincerity.
A Call to the Nation
Join the Struggle for a Better Future
Jamaat-e-Islami calls the nation toward a life grounded in the obedience of Allah and the guidance of His Messenger ﷺ. We invite people to sincerity in faith, unity in purpose, and excellence in conduct. We call on Muslims to live as true believers in belief, character, and action. We call on the nation to reject hypocrisy, injustice, and corruption, and to choose a future shaped by truth and responsibility.
Our struggle continues until the guidance of Allah is reflected in every sphere of human life. Until then, we will continue to work through education, service, organisation, reform, and principled political engagement.
The question before every conscientious citizen is simple: will you remain a spectator, or will you stand with the truth?
